Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT/MATV systems)

The digital TV switchover is Government policy, with the UK’s analogue TV service in the process of being switched off. It will mean that almost everyone will need to switch to receive digital TV through an aerial (Freeview).

What does this mean for property managers? If you own or manage a property that has a communal TV aerial system you will need to ensure that the building is set up to receive digital TV, otherwise residents may not be able to receive a digital television signal after switchover. For landlords and property managers, Master Antenna TV (MATV) systems may require upgrading to receive digital TV.

How Cirrus can help

Working with its technology partners, Cirrus has completed over 19,000 Integrated Reception System (IRS) for local authorities and housing associations. We can help by offering nationwide digital checks, then supplying the necessary upgrade and maintenance packages to support the digital switch over.

Telecare and social alarms monitoring

Social alarms monitoring provides an emergency response service, enabling round-the-clock support for users in the event of a fall, emergency or crisis. The reassurance this provides, enables people to live a much more independent and active life, whilst reducing the worry and anxiety for their family.

This service is accessed via a range of devices (pull cords, pendants etc) and means individuals are only moments from being in voice contact with a highly experienced support team.

Cirrus works in close partnership with CarelineUK, the largest provider of social alarm monitoring services in the UK. For more information please visit www.carelineuk.com

Lone worker and mobile GPS services

Cirrus works with technology partners to provide powerful GPS location devices to help companies keep in touch with their staff; particularly those that work away from an office on their own or to support vulnerable people who may be prone to falling. The service offers:

  • An "emergency" button function that enables instant access to an emergency contact or control centre
  • Track & trace ability via GPS (global positioning system*)
  • A motion sensor function that immediately sends a text message alarm should the user fall or be in a 'man-down' situation
  • Provides four adjustable safety zones that can be set allowing the user to roam freely within them during the service time
  • Assists employers with duty of care responsibilities such as compliance with the recently introduced Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007
  • Adheres to the suggested HSE procedures for monitoring lone workers
* When in satellite and mobile network coverage. If the device is not in satellite coverage, e.g. indoors, the last known position will be shown.
