The success of a partnering contract between Cirrus and Homes in Sedgemoor has been recognised by the Association of Consultant Architects (ACA) in its annual awards.
The ACA is the national professional body that represents architects in private practice throughout the UK and was responsible for the original development of the Term Partnering Contract (TPC). This form of contract is used in the procurement works and services, and considered the foundation and route map for partnering agreements of this type.
The partnership between Cirrus and the ALMO (Arms Length Management Organisation) received the accolade of being shortlisted for the ‘ACA Innovation in Partnering using PPC200 & TPC2005 award’ as a result of the success it has achieved.
The judges commented that the contract was “a very good example of using the processes and relationships under TPC2005 to deliver significant savings and improved services” and that “...results have been spectacular”.
Benefits included higher quality equipment for the client and a reduction of call outs and service visits. An 18% saving on maintenance and servicing costs was achieved in the first year and time spent managing the contract was reduced by half.
The awards were made at the PPC/TPC User Conference 2011. Other nominees included the Department for Work and Pensions, Merton Priory Homes and winners of the award Mullaley & Co Ltd.
Ian Loveless, Head of Sales for Cirrus said “Having the open and transparent relationship with Homes in Sedgemoor that this form of contract requires has already proved itself in terms of results. That it has been publically acknowledged in this way is fantastic.”
