Design of fire detection and smoke alarm systems

Our knowledge and experience of designing new systems helps us deliver the best engineered solution for the reality of the situation. Our practical approach takes future maintenance into consideration to make sure that the system is as straight-forward as possible to maintain, helping to keep your maintenance costs low.

Installation of fire detection and fire protection equipment

We work closely with clients involving them in all aspects of specifying an installation. In this way, each installation is bespoke to that client and their building. Our design team will provide options and assist you in selecting the most appropriate system for your needs, ensuring that all necessary standards are met and agree timescales for the installation. If the system is required for a new build our team are experienced in working with contractors to deliver solutions on time and to budget. The focus of our business on the retirement, extracare and residential sectors means that our engineers are familiar with that type of working environment and are sensitive to residents' needs or concerns. The nature of the developments we work in also means that we are experienced in installing additional safety features such as disabled refuge areas.

Responsive and planned maintenance of fire detection and fire protection systems

Depending on your requirements, Cirrus can tailor service level agreements from reactive response to cover with inclusion of parts. This can include services for fire fighting appliances and systems (such as integrated and standalone smoke venting systems, extinguishers, dry risers and wet risers, hose reels and sprinkler systems).  We operate two separate teams of fire engineers for planned and responsive maintenance to ensure timescales for scheduled work are met. Both of these teams are able to maintain additional equipment linked to your fire alarm system such as emergency lighting and door entry systems. As part of our service for all planned maintenance we will work with you and your house or estate managers to reassure residents and keep them informed about the work being carried out including any likely disruption.

Asset register and condition reporting of fire detection and fire protection systems

Asset registers provide a complete listing of all your fire system equipment so you know exactly what is installed on your sites or premises. They ensure you can receive fair and accurate pricing and project timescales from any provider, not just ourselves. As such, we offer this as a standard service to all new clients. While producing the register we can also provide a condition report for all your fire protection and detection equipment, identifying any at risk equipment and helping you keep your systems in operation, minimising reactive call outs or possible system failure.

Fire risk assessments

The purpose of a risk assessment is to identify where fires may start and who may be at risk from that fire. Means of escape and the emergency action plan are assessed. Legislation dictates that fire safety risk assessment must be kept up to date and at minimum reviewed on an annual basis. Our fully trained fire risk assessors will review your current fire precautions, identify any hazards, decide on any action that needs to be taken and produce a written assessment.  Cirrus' fire safety service also includes keeping you abreast of any change in legislation and advising you of any further action that needs to be taken.
